Building Relationships for Better Lives

Welcome to Trinity Presbyterian!

Trinity Presbyterian, Santa CruzWelcome Trinity Presbyterian, Santa Cruz, as the newest member of Santa Cruz al Salvador.  Trinity's Session voted in favor of membership at their meeting February 21, 2008 (the Session is the congregation's governing board, similar to a church Council or Board of Directors).  We're very pleased to have another congregation join us in building relationships with and working with the communities of Guillermo Ungo in El Salvador. You can learn more about Trinity Presbyterian by visiting their website.

Tom and Melissa

dscn0520.jpgA pleasant surprise was waiting for us as we arrived with Delegation 2008 on December 30th (2007). Tom and Melissa, two North American volunteers with Crispaz, are staying in Guillermo Ungo (El Sitio to be precise) for an extended period -- perhaps as much as 18 months. Melissa helps Arili (who prepares most of our meals) and works with AMUDESCO, the women's organization that maintains the health clinic and works with communities to reduce domestic violence. Tom teaches English in the local school. We had a great time getting to know them and swapping stories with them. We were even able to introduce them to Sister Peggy in Suchitoto! Tom and Melissa have a blog so we can keep up with their exploits.

Delegation 2008

My apologies for the slow update after the 2008 delegation.  You'll see the crew's smiling faces at the top of this page, along with our new logo.  I've also published the "2007 Report to Members" submitted for the St. Stephen's Lutheran Church annual reports.  This includes a recap of the 2008 delegation (12/29/2007 - 1/08/2008). Please stay tuned as we'll soon be publishing our 2008 newsletter.
